“Rave new year.
I know it’s the prevailing wisdom, given the calendar of the last millennium or so, that everybody is preparing to begin a new cycle on January the 1st. According to the Human Design system, the cycle, the annual cycle, the annual rave new year begins on the 22nd of the month when the Sun transits into the 41st hexagram, the gate of Decrease.
The 41st hexagram is very important in the context of the way in which patterns operates. The 41st hexagram, this gate is in the root center and it is the pressure that launches the human experiential way. In fact, when one looks at the 41st hexagram in terms of its relationship in genetics, to codons, that it represents the only start codon. If one could look at our genetic code it has a collection of sentences and information. It’s like the capitalization that takes places at the beginning of the sentence. No genetic sentence can begin without a start codon. So in essence, the 41 is the key to understanding the beginning of any cycle.
When the Sun enters into the 41st gate we begin the new year. Interesting enough, the new year begins on the Cross of the Unexpected. And that is, that basically each new year opens up as a mutative potential in which the unexpected is something that’s possible. Everything in that sense begins with, in terms of our human process, begins with this.
This whole business about new year resolutions, and all of these various things that people have with the end of the calendar cycle, is really a dilemma. The Sun and Earth at New Years is always in the 38/39 combination. That is, the combination of opposition and obstruction. The combination of fighting and provoking. If you look very carefully at the new year, you’ll see that the new year always takes place with the Sun/Earth in the 38/39 axis. The 38th gate, Opposition, the gate of the fighter and the 39th gate, Obstruction, the gate of provocation. That one can see that New Year’s is rooted in some very contentious energy. It is always caught up with a certain amount of turmoil. And it always represents turmoil that either leads to struggle or to emoting. And it also means that, that’s a time of year where there’s a lot of food taken in. It’s typical of the 39th gate and its movement towards the 55.
To get involved in trying to launch a new cycle in the middle of that is really going to be a problem. It is about energy that is at the end. Energy to clean the slate, if you will, and to complete the process. You’re going to find it’s a real struggle. And it will be an emotional heartache to try to work that out before the new cycle begins because it’s not going to be effective, at least in most cases. The year isn’t over. That is, the cycle is not complete. And the cycle is not complete until you reach limitation. So hold off on those New Year’s resolutions because they’re something that can really get you into trouble.
As we move through the build-up in the first rave weeks of January, as we move from the 38/39 axis to the 54,53 and finally the 61,62 we get to the limitation. When the Sun is in the 60th gate, the gate of Limitation and finally we begin a new cycle when the Sun moves into the 41st gate.. But first we have to get to the limitation. We have to get to the end of the year. So the beginning of January, at least the first three weeks of January are not about looking forward. It’s still about finishing up with the past. It’s still about dealing with those things that are there.
The Sun/Earth movement at the beginning of January, the 38 and the 39, and then the 54, 53 and then the 61, 62 and finally the 60 and 56. And then it leads to the 41. You still have a process to go through. And a process that is deeply connected with getting to the facts, the inner truth. You know, closing out the cycle, finally reaching the limitation. But reaching the limitation with a basic stimulation. The Earth in 56, it’s moving you forward into the next cycle, the beginning of a new cycle. So, if you have any plans, save them until you get the 22nd and then begin looking forward and looking forward into the world.”
